Waimate Update - June 2007
Since the roundtable in Chch, we have gone up another level in Waimate.
We have got back to weekly prayer meetings at 7am on Tuesday, there are leaders from 4 -5 churches who regularly attend now. For the Global Day of Prayer, we set up a prayer room in an unused factory dining room, just off the main street for 10 days before the GDOP.
It was opened from 6am to 10pm, there was a good use of the room from people from the various churches. We also had a combined service based wholey on the GDOP.
In July the churches are supporting a program to deliver the Radio Rhema devotional book, "The Word for Today" to every household in Waimate and to some in the outlying area. We have ordered 2000 copies.
This begins on July 21st with people from the various churches coming together to walk, pray and deliver the booklets. Also in July, the vineyard are holding a town wide worship night on a saturday night in the AOG building.
