Separation of church and state

Separation of church and state is a good idea, says New Zealand Christian Network (visionnetwork) National Director, Glyn Carpenter.

Interviewed on Newstalk ZB's Sunday Pat and Petra show, Mr Carpenter said if you look around the world at places where religion and state are intertwined, quite often there are serious problems.

  1. I would TOTALLY DISAGREE. Church cannot be separated from state anymore that Church can be separated from Science. To attempt to do so is an illusional fallacy usually based on the convenience of the group advocating, because they temporarily lack the resolve to or immediate means to bring the arrangement of the governmental administration under the ruling wisdom of the Church (although history has shown that Church has frequently failed to posses such ruling Wisdom by itself deviating from GodÅ› wisdom). This temporary lack is the nexus that Church should address not the abandonment of connection. Our Heritage is built upon the heritage of Christ, reinforced by the arrangements of Magna Carta and various wars in defence to push aside enslavement. To abandon connection is to abandon the right to a Christian justice, a Christian heritage, the very Freedom Christ gave his life to preserve.
