Celebrate marriage

New Zealand Christian Network is gearing up to promote and celebrate National Marriage Week, 12-19 February 2012. Many Western countries already celebrate Marriage Week, and groups in this country, including NZ Christian Network, believe it would be good to raise its profile here.
NZ Christian Network has registered a web address, www.marriageweek.org.nz, and by next month will have a website available where people can log events and access resources. Watch this space.
Family Life founders visit

The founders of Family Life Ministry, Dennis and Barbara Rainey, recently visited New Zealand, and have signalled their support for National Marriage Week here. They are pictured here with Glyn Carpenter, and Andy Bray, who along with wife Nikki are the New Zealand directors of the ministry.
The Raineys are best known for the Weekend to Remember marriage weekends and Home Builders small group resources.
NZ Christian Network National Director Glyn Carpenter recently attended a small briefing session run by Family Life on the state of marriage and family.
"It was so useful to have this opportunity," said Glyn, "especially as we think ahead to Marriage Week in February next year, and to ways we can celebrate the great positives that marriage brings to families and to society.
“Despite the many difficulties and challenges, marriage is still God's plan for adult intimate relationships. So it should be no surprise that it continues to provide safer and more stable outcomes for all concerned as well as society at large.
"It was a privilege to meet Dennis and Barbara after first seeing them on video nearly 20 years ago," he said.
