ARocha and Oakley Creek working bee (9:00 am)
A Rocha Auckland are helping the Friends of Oakley Creek with restoration of a section of the walkway adjacent to Kodesh Community in Cradock Street, Avondale. During this working bee, we will be weeding the area which was replanted in July.

Just Action 2010 Conference (8:30 am)
A social justice conference featuring keynote speakers of international reputation. Jim Wallis of Sojourners USA and Dave Andrews of Tear Australia and many other competent and experienced seminar and workshop presenters. Purpose: (1)To raise awareness of the Biblical mandate to prophetically address social justice issues based on a Christian world view. (2) To challenge, motivate, scripturally resource and enable engagement in the mission of the Church to bring about change and transformation in neighbourhood, community, the nation and the world.‘the power to change' - Just Action 2010 Conference
This will be a rare opportunity to hear in person America's leading Christian social justice advocate, the Rev Jim Wallis, founder and International Director of Sojourners, who is visiting NZ for the first time.
Another highly respected keynote speaker is Dave Andrew of Tearfund Australia, well known for his radical and practical approaches to bringing about change. Supporting the keynote speakers will be seminar presenters of note including Sir Paul Reeves, Sam Chapman, Ruby Duncan, Stephanie McIntyre and Campbell Roberts plus 32 workshops lead by experienced practitioners.
The conference is being held at the TelstraClear Pacific Event Centre, Manukau City, Wednesday 29 to Thursday 30 September and is sponsored by the Social Policy & Parliamentary Unit of The Salvation Army.
If you can't make the full Conference there is a Public Event on the Thursday evening commencing 7.30pm. Admission by donation. Jim Wallis will speak on the subject of ‘Re-discovering Values'. This event is co-sponsored by World Vision.
